My Cowgirl

I am gonna try to keep this thing going. I know most people quit after a few and maybe I will too who knows. Mahala had her last volleyball practice yesterday. I think she will be really good at it if she keeps playing. She got really good at tennis a when she was 10 though (a tennis pro said she was good enough at least to play tournaments) but she decided to quit that so who knows what she will do.

Keri's team won their last game like 9-0. The last half of the season she got to where she would fight the boys for the ball and actually win in sometimes. I think that will make her a lot better when she starts playing with all girls again.

We tried to go out to eat again after Mahala's practice but baby Alex decided once again, as she does anytime we go somewhere like that, she wanted to scream her head off the WHOLE TIME we were there. It's like she is saying "don't even think about eating anything good until I can eat it too." My other 2 were the exact opposite. You could take them anywhere. This one is a mess. I wish I had my video camera. She went crazy.

Bridget has since found a nice little gadget that lets Alex eat anything you can put in it. She can taste it but she can;t get the food out except in very tiny pieces. I think this might be the greatest invention of all time.

Father's Day was awesome. My kids actually celebrated it on Friday instead of Sunday since Bridget works nights all weekend. The kids actually made a "little Carrabbas" at the house and they were the servers. It was great! They made teh dressing that I love from there and helped Bridget make Sirloin Bryan. It was really cute. I also got these :

The greatest grill cover ever made (in full view of VA Tech fan neighbors of course)

College World Series shirt and hat which commemorates UVA's first trip to the CWS.

Now all I need is the ACC Champion Shirt.

Ain't this the cutest pic. Think she was a little tired?

We have been riding bikes lately so I bought this thing so Alex can go with us :

She loves to ride in it. Sometimes she has a hard time sitting up though. More than once I have looked back and she has fallen over on her side, and she's laying there just smiling like crazy. I need a picture of that.

Everyone got the hair cut off this week. Well everyone but me. Here's Keri's new hair :
I don't pictures of Mahala or Bridget yet but their hair is actually shorter than this.
I of course, still have the longest hair in the family.

Ok that's all for now.

First Blog Ever

I always get into something at the tail end you know. Like blogging. Now everyone is Twittering, right? Or Tweeting or whatever. I think it's all hype though. Or maybe I am just old and don't get it. I like Facebook though. Especially getting to talk to my favorite niece!!

This is really just for the family in case the want to see what's going on with us. And by "us" I mean the grand kids. I would have done this a lot earlier but my sister started a blog one and she's so good at it I was embarrassed to even try.

She is seriously that good. I think she could easily write a book and have it be one of the most interesting things I have ever read.

Go here

to read it.

Well we are getting ready to go to yard sales again tomorrow. I think we are addicted to them. Already this year we have gotten a pool table, air hockey table, and foosball table for the garage for $60 total, found Keri a Sponge Bob skateboard for a quarter, gotten the kids countless clothes and plenty of stuff to sell on Ebay.

I even found a place that had 15 pair of size 38 wrangler jeans and 4 pair of shorts for $2 each. The lady sold me ALL of them for $3 total. I guess she just wanted to get rid of them. I found about 4 or 5 pair I liked that fit and the rest I am selling on Ebay. We'll make a little money on that deal I think.

They can't all be winners though. We did buy an upright freezer for $50 and it won't get cool enough to use.I should have paid attention to how old it was but I didn't.

Keri, my 8 year old, quit her football team. It was too rough for her but she did really well when she played. . showed dem boys a thing or 2.

She also has her last soccer game tomorrow which will be nice because we won't have to stop going to yard sales to go to her games anymore. Well at least not til the fall anyway.I think soccer is gonna be her game. She didn;t score any goals the first season she played and the first 6 games into the second season. Then something clicked and she scored 4 the last 3 games and like 10 last year. I would love to say I taught her but I don't know crap about soccer. We do play sometimes but I sure can't teach her anything.

Mahala has started playing volleyball at the YMCA.

That's her thing now. She loves it and I think she's gonna try out for the team at school next year. That will be cool. She also plays soccer for Optimist in the Spring an Fall. Just finished her first season. She was very nervous before her first game because here she was 11 years old and never played before. She was afraid she would suck I guess. She scored her first goal less than a minute into that first game (it ended up being her only goal too, but still). After that she was fine!!

Alex is sitting up by herself now and saying dada all the time. I think Bridget teaches the kids this because she KNOWS later on it will be all mama all the time. I love it of course. She is 25 1/2" and 14lbs 2 ounces now and still loves to scream, especially when we try to go out to eat. So we don't muc anymore. So I guess she's actually saving us some money. Might be the first baby ever to do that. Too bad it won't stay that way long. She is finally getting to the point where she will play by herself for longer than 2 minutes at a time so that's a good thing.
